How To Host A Party At

JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY

James Madison University is know for many things over its almost 100 years of existence. Such things as a beautiful campus, one of the fasting growing schools in the state of Virginia, a great ISAT program along with the School of Business that is in the top ten percent of all schools in the nation. Well JMU I do believe is more than just a school of academics as well as well as it should be. I believe while in college there is almost as much as importance to get good grades as it is to socialize and make contacts. Some contacts for business opportunities, some for friendships that could last a lifetime. Either way one of the main ways to make such contacts is having or attending social events. This page is dedicated to just that. Here are some tips!!!

Party Tips

Always start to set up hours before the party
Take away any valuables or hide them. If it can be broken there is a great chance that it will be broken
Since You are at JMU remember to lock your doors to your bedroom. This is college kids you never know what kind of people you are dealing with.
Always have the drinks in an open area. Such as the kitchen, living room, or outside porch. The reasoning is where there are drinks and food, there will be a crowd.
Invite people that you want to come, but if you are wanting a smaller size party remember to inform the invites; for invites will invite others and before you know it your small party has turned into the block party.
If you have clean carpets set an outdoor carpet or some other type of carpet to go over top of the original.
Reasoning: Your carpets will get destroyed either by mud, wear and tear, drinks that will be split or if drinks are not split, maybe the guy or girl will eventually spill them out in a much harsher way.
If you have guy friends coming in obviously invite girls, though getting girls at a party is not hard at JMU other schools tend to have difficulties at this. This also applies vice versa for if girls are attending.
Remember if you are having a large party compare the number of people you are having to your cups and to your drinks or food.
If one is having a larger party, register it with the local police department. In this case if you are at JMU it is the Harrisonburg Police Department 540-434-2545
If one is having a dancing party, supply an open space, music, and invite people that you know will dance, otherwise few will dance
Remember to have fun. It is a party!!! Go out there meet people, socialize with the friends you love and make new ones while you are at it
MOST IMPORTANTD NOT let anyone drink and drive. With this they do not only endanger themselves and others but you are also at risks for you supplied the drinks at the party.
